Ornellaia 'Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia' Bolgheri Rosso, Tuscany, Italy

39.50

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is Ornellaia’s second wine, made with the grapes mainly from the estate’s younger vineyards and is made with the same dedication and attention to detail as grand vin Ornellaia.

2015 is an exceptional vintage, perfect balance of fruit concentration and acidity. The wine has a deep colour, intense and ripe fruit flavours with slightly spicy roasted aromas, freshness of balsamic. It is beautifully round, velvety, full and harmonious.

AWARDS AND REVIEWS

94 points, Vinous - "The 2015 Le Serre Nuove shows just how alluring this vintage is. Silky, perfumed and also wonderfully light on its feet, the 2015 is a real pleasure to taste today. All of the Ornellaia signatures come through in an attractive, mid-weight wine that will drink well right out of the gate. The 2015 is a stunning Serre Nuove. That's all there is to it." by Antonio Galloni

93 points, Wine Advocate - This is a stunning and exuberant wine that drinks with beautiful intensity and personality. The 2015 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is made with fruit from the estate's young vines. Fruit from the older vines is instead directed to the top-shelf expressions. If this wine is any indication of what we can expect from the next vintage of Ornellaia to hit the market, we are in for a very special treat. This is a complete and richly concentrated expression that drinks with seamless intensity. It pits power against elegance with confidence and grace. by Monica Larner

92 points, Wine Spectator - Lush and modern, this evokes black cherry, blackberry, plum and light earth and iron flavors. A dusty swath of tannins girds the finish, but this should come together nicely in a year or two. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2028.
