18.50

Chignard's Fleurie is loaded with flavours and has an intense palate feel. This is not simply a Fleurie, but a good one. The wine is concentrated, intensely aromatic and have a depth of fruit and structure seldom found in wines form this village floral Fleurie character.

AWARDS AND REVIEWS

James Suckling, 95 points ‘This is very structured with tension and polished tannins. Wonderful length and finesse’.

Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate, 91 Points The 2015 Fleurie les Moriers has a similar bouquet to the 2014 but with a little more intensity. This springs out of the glass whereas the previous vintage needed more coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red fruit on the entry. I like the cohesion and focus here, demonstrating fine structure for a Fleurie, almost Morgon-like on the finish. This is a superb follow-up to the impressive 2014."

DOMAINE CHIGNARD

The Chignard family's vineyards, Les Moriers, are one of the best sites of the Fleurie appellation in Beaujolais. Steep vineyard stretches right down into Moulin-à-Vent, another one of ten Beaujolais crus. Vines are over sixty years-old keeping yields naturally low.

However their success is not coming only from their vineyards but their traditionalist stance on vineyard management and winemaking is essential to craft such great wines.

As a result, Chignard's Fleuries are unusually concentrated, intensely aromatic and have a depth of fruit and structure seldom found in wines from this village floral Fleurie character.
