The wine has is structured precisely but with a personality. Big, bold, intense loaded with dark fruits, blackberry and plums. Velvety soft tannins with a long finish.

AWARDS

2015 is not rated yet however below is for the 2014 vintage;

#2 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2017

95 Points, Wine Spectator - A knockout Syrah, precise and impeccably built but explosive with personality. Smoky roasted meat and floral blackberry aromas combine with bold, supple flavors of dark plum, pepper and licorice. The tannins are big but polished
94-96 points, Jeb Dunnuck for Robert Parker-Wine Advocate: A new cuvee that's all from the Powerline Vineyard in the southern part of the Walla Walla Valley, the 2014 Syrah Powerline is all from the Phelps clone, was fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in puncheons. One of the more bloody, meaty, iron-laced and savory Syrahs in the lineup, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a thick, unctuous texture, ripe tannin and a finish that makes your heart beat a touch faster. Give bottles a few years in the cellar and enjoy over the following decade.

CHARLES SMITH DEVELOPED HIS TASTE FOR WINE WHILE HE WAS TOURING EUROPE AS A MANAGER OF A ROCK BAND. WHEN HE IS BACK TO US, ON A PLEASURE TRIP VISITING SOME OF THE STATE'S TOP WINERIES, BY CHANCE, SITS NEXT TO FRENCHMAN CHRISTOPHE BARON WHO MAKES WASHINGTON'S OUTSTANDING CAYUSE SYRAHS, AT A WINE DINNER. THERE WAS A CLICK BETWEEN THEM, BARON OFFERS TO GIVE SMITH GRAPES TO GET STARTED MAKING WINE. AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF VINTAGES, HIS SYRAHS WERE BEING RECOGNISED AND FINALLY HIS 2002 VINTAGE WAS EXCEPTIONAL!

HIS WINES ARE NOT ONLY RECOGNISED BY THEIR ECCENTRIC LABELS, BUT ALSO BY HIGHLY PRAISED REVIEWS BY PROMINENT WINE CRITICS. SMITH WAS AWARDED THE "WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR 2009" AND WAS THE FIRST RECEIVING 100 POINTS RATING IN WASHINGTON.

HE HAS A PASSION ESPECIALLY FOR SYRAH AND MAKES GREAT WINES FOR EVERY OCCASION, EVERY DAY AND EVERY MOMENT.
